About me

My work is a celebration of the beauty I find everyday – in commonplace things, in the gorgeous north Wales countryside, my own garden, wildlife and of course, people.

I love to explore new techniques, to experiment and to have fun.  This brings originality and a contemporary feel to my work.  My absolute pleasure is to create beautiful works of art that will bring you joy for many years to come.

My studio is at my home which I share with my husband and three dogs (two energetic border collies and a Jack Russell/collie cross who likes nothing better than a cuddle).

Rosie is a truly versatile and creative artist who paints from her heart.

AF, Bury

The craggy Welsh hillside that is our garden overlooks the River Dee towards the Wirral peninsula and Liverpool and it not only provides flowers, fruit and vegetables but also endless artistic inspiration throughout the year.

From the delicate pinks of early blossom, the welcome cheerfulness of spring bulbs, to the fulsome beauty of scented roses in summer and then the richness and colours of the ripening fruits and turning leaves in autumn.  The garden’s palette is reflected in my paintings as I try to capture the ephemeral beauty of nature on canvas.

Inspiration also comes from the beauty of everyday things – a simple jug of flowers, a jewel coloured glass vase, wildflowers along the lanes, a rickety farm gate or an old stone wall.

My Studio

A painting is more than a photograph, it contains what you see and feel as an artist when your eye is attracted to something you wish to paint. This means that the object is uniquely experienced through the colours I choose, the medium I select, the brush techniques I use and the style I adopt.

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see:

Begin with a Vision

This is an intuitive process and although I may begin with a vision, as I work the painting begins to take me on a journey and it evolves as I explore ways of capturing that vision. Often the finished painting is different from my original concept but has greater depth as the layers of my imagination are captured in the paint.

I love to create beautiful works of art that will bring you joy for many years to come. I want my paintings to bring light and colour into your home and for you to see, each time you look – something you had not seen before.

I enjoy being part of the vibrant North Wales Art Community where I have the opportunity to teach, exhibit and take part in the annual Art Trail.

I express my art in a variety of mediums including oil, watercolour and pastel, employing colour and unique mark making to capture mood and atmosphere.  I’m essentially a self taught artist with many years experience and i still enjoy learning new techniques and pushing myself to perfect my art.

I am a collector of Rosie’s work, I purchased one work to hang in our favourite room and we loved that so much we commissioned another for my husband’s birthday. The paintings bring so much pleasure into our home – we love them.  I am now planning my next purchase to add to my collection.

My Shop

Oil paintings are supplied professionally framed unless stated otherwise. Watercolour and pastel works are supplied without frames – with a mount and backing board, encased in a cellophane wrapper.  This is owing to the difficulties involved in sending glazed pictures through the post.

Postage and packing is free of charge anywhere on the UK mainland.

If you live outside the UK mainland and want to purchase a painting please contact me prior to purchase.
